What is PRP Facial Therapy

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) therapy is a treatment which uses your own blood platelets to stimulate new cell growth, helping to improve your complexion, skin texture and to restore lost facial volume. ...

We take your blood and spin it in a centrifuge, which enables the separation of the blood cells from your plasma and platelets and depending on the treatment this platelet rich plasma is either re-injected back into your skin or smear over the skin prior to microneedling.

What is PRP used for?

PRP can be used in several therpaies;  one common approach, is to combine the (PRP) facial platelets from your blood with other rejuvenation techniques. ... “Collagen is the 'latticework of the face,' so a PRP facial helps tighten, smooth and improve skin tone.” and "Hair regrowth regimens"

Speak to your consultant and discuss how it may assist you.

Takeaway

With the use of an chemist supplied over-the-counter numbing cream, the PRP procedure isn't at all painful, it's just slightly uncomfortable. If you've ever had a Brazilian, had your hair bleached or even your eyebrows threaded, you'll be more than familiar with the concept of 'not painful, just uncomfortable'. You can expect some swelling, and sometimes bruising, immediately after the treatment and the recovery time can be anything from a few hours to a few days but in general the downtime is virtually non-existent. Depending on the procedure we may recommend you use certain skin care products as part of a post-care regime.

PRP therapy is autologous - it comes directly from you! So the chances that your body will reject its own plasma are slim to none. Please be aware, there is an element of risk that comes with every cosmetic procedure.
